VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions elfutils version 0.168
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a heap-based buffer over-read and application crash, through a crafted ELF file. This is due to the handle gnu hash function in readelf.c.
Recommendations For elfutils version 0.168, consider disabling the handle gnu hash function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to crafted ELF files to minimize the risk of exploitation.
