Description The issue arises when the DOF dissector in Wireshark enters an infinite loop. This can be triggered by either packet injection or a malformed capture file. The problem was addressed by modifying the epan/dissectors/packet-dof.c file, specifically by utilizing a different integer data type and adjusting a return value.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 2.2.0 through 2.2.5, update the epan/dissectors/packet-dof.c file to use a different integer data type and adjust the return value to prevent the infinite loop issue.
