CVE-2017-8787

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions PoDoFo version 0.9.5
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have other impact via a crafted PDF file. This is due to a heap-based buffer over-read in the PoDoFo::PdfXRefStreamParserObject::ReadXRefStreamEntry function.
Recommendations For PoDoFo version 0.9.5, consider avoiding the use of crafted PDF files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the processing of PDF files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
