CVE-2017-9259

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions SoundTouch version 1.9.2
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a memory allocation error and application crash, via a crafted wav file. This is due to a problem in the TDStretch::acceptNewOverlapLength function.
Recommendations For SoundTouch version 1.9.2, consider avoiding the use of crafted wav files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of wav files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
