Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
SimpleCE version 2.3.0
Description
A CSRF issue can be exploited to add an administrator account or change its settings, including the password, by accessing specific API endpoints such as "index.php/user/new" or "index.php/user/1".
Recommendations
For SimpleCE version 2.3.0, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the "index.php/user/new" and "index.php/user/1" API endpoints until a patch is available. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
