Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Artifex Ghostscript GhostXPS version 9.21
Description
The issue is related to the xps decode font char imp function in xps/xpsfont.c, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a heap-based buffer over-read and application crash, or possibly have other unspecified impacts via a crafted document.
Recommendations
For Artifex Ghostscript GhostXPS version 9.21, consider disabling the xps decode font char imp function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to crafted documents to minimize the risk of exploitation.
