Description The issue is related to a memory leak within the TIFFmalloc function in tif unix.c, caused by the TIFFReadDirEntryLong8Array function in libtiff/tif dirread.c mishandling a malloc operation. This can be triggered by attackers via a crafted file, leading to a denial of service.
Recommendations For LibTIFF version 4.0.7, consider updating to a newer version that addresses this issue, as the current version is affected by a memory leak that can cause a denial of service. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
