Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted .fpx file. This is related to "Data from Faulting Address controls Branch Selection starting at ntdll 77df0000!TpAllocCleanupGroup+0x00000000000003d7."
Recommendations
For version 2.40, avoid using the software to open crafted .fpx files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of XnView Classic for Windows to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
