CVE-2017-3454

CVSS v2.0

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:N/I:P/A:P
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Oracle MySQL versions 5.7.17 and earlier
Description The issue is related to inadequate access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the InnoDB subcomponent. It allows a high-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server. Successful attacks can result in unauthorized access to update, insert, or delete data, as well as cause the server to hang or crash repeatedly, leading to a complete denial of service.
Recommendations For versions 5.7.17 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.17 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation. Restrict privileged access to the MySQL Server to reduce the potential impact of the issue.
