CVE-2017-3308

CVSS v3.1

7.7

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions MySQL Server versions 5.5.54 and earlier MySQL Server versions 5.6.35 and earlier MySQL Server versions 5.7.17 and earlier
Description The issue is related to inadequate access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Server: DML subcomponent. This allows a low-privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise the MySQL Server, potentially causing a hang or repeatable crash, resulting in a denial of service. The vulnerability can significantly impact additional products beyond MySQL Server.
Recommendations For versions 5.5.54 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.5.54 to resolve the issue. For versions 5.6.35 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.6.35 to resolve the issue. For versions 5.7.17 and earlier, update to a version later than 5.7.17 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
