CVE-2017-8105

CVSS v3.1

9.8

Critical

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions FreeType versions prior to 2017-03-24
Description The issue is caused by a heap-based buffer overflow in the t1 decoder parse charstrings function in psaux/t1decode.c of the FreeType library. This can allow a remote attacker to write data beyond the boundaries of a buffer.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2017-03-24, update to a version released after 2017-03-24 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the t1 decoder parse charstrings function until a patch is available.
