CVE-2017-9076

CVSS v3.1

7.8

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 4.11.1
Description The issue is related to the dccp v6 request recv sock function in the net/dccp/ipv6.c file of the Linux kernel, which mishandles inheritance. This allows local users to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via crafted system calls.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 4.11.1, update to version 4.11.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the dccp v6 request recv sock function until a patch is available.
