Description A remote denial of service issue in the libhevc library of the Mediaserver component could allow an attacker to cause a device hang or reboot using a specially crafted file. This issue is related to insufficient access control in the libhevc library, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to achieve a denial of service, resulting in device hang or reboot.

Recommendations For Android versions 5.0.2 through 7.1.2, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue to prevent remote denial of service attacks. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
