CVE-2017-11141

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick versions 7.0.5 through 7.0.6
Description The issue is related to a memory leak vulnerability in the ReadMATImage function, caused by incorrect ordering of a SetImageExtent call. This can lead to memory exhaustion via a crafted MAT file. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For ImageMagick versions 7.0.5 through 7.0.6, consider restricting the use of the ReadMATImage function until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, avoid using the SetImageExtent call in conjunction with the ReadMATImage function to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
