| Vector | AV:N/AC:H/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Microsoft Edge versions prior to the fixed version
Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow due to an error in handling objects in memory, which can allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the current user. If the current user has administrative rights, the attacker could take control of the affected system, install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
Recommendations
For Microsoft Edge versions prior to the fixed version, update to the latest version to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to sensitive data and minimizing the use of administrative user rights until a patch is available.
