CVE-2017-12428

CVSS v3.1

7.5

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick version 7.0.6-1
Description A memory leak issue was discovered in the ReadWMFImage function in coders/wmf.c, which can lead to a denial of service in CloneDrawInfo in draw.c. This issue is caused by a buffer overflow in memory, allowing a remote attacker to exploit the vulnerability and cause a service disruption.
Recommendations For ImageMagick version 7.0.6-1, consider disabling the ReadWMFImage function in coders/wmf.c as a temporary workaround to prevent potential exploitation until a patch is available. Restrict access to the CloneDrawInfo function in draw.c to minimize the risk of a denial of service. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
