CVE-2017-14341

CVSS v2.0

7.1

High

VectorAV:N/AC:M/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions ImageMagick version 7.0.6-6
Description The issue is related to the ReadWPGImage function in coders/wpg.c, which is caused by incorrect resource consumption control. This can lead to resource exhaustion when a specially crafted wpg image file is used. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause CPU exhaustion.
Recommendations For ImageMagick version 7.0.6-6, consider disabling the ReadWPGImage function in coders/wpg.c as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the coders/wpg.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the ReadWPGImage function with untrusted wpg image files until the issue is resolved.
