CVE-2017-13081

CVSS v2.0

7.9

High

VectorAV:A/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions WPA and WPA2 (affected versions not specified)
Description The issue is related to the Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA and WPA2) protocol, which supports IEEE 802.11w. It allows the reinstallation of the Integrity Group Temporal Key (IGTK) during the group key handshake. This enables an attacker within radio range to spoof frames from access points to clients. The vulnerability is associated with errors in cryptographic key management, allowing an attacker to access encrypted information transmitted over the wireless network, such as decrypting or injecting data packets, or hijacking TCP connections, by reinstalling the integrity group key during the group key exchange.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
