| Vector | AV:A/AC:M/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
WPA and WPA2 (affected versions not specified)
Description
The issue is related to errors in cryptographic key management in the WPA2 protocol, which secures Wi-Fi wireless networks. An attacker within the Wi-Fi network's range can exploit this issue to access encrypted information transmitted over the wireless network, such as decrypting or injecting data packets, or hijacking a TCP connection. This is made possible by the reinstallation of the Transient Key (STK) during the PeerKey handshake, allowing the attacker to replay, decrypt, or spoof frames.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
