Description
The issue is related to multiple buffer overflows in the kernel of the Intel Server Platform Services Firmware. This allows an attacker with local access to the system to execute arbitrary code. The buffer overflows are found in the Intel Server Platform Services (SPS) firmware, which is part of the Platform Controller Hub (PCH) family of chipsets acting as a southbridge.

For Intel Server Platform Services Firmware version 4.0, update to a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
