Description
The issue is related to multiple buffer overflows in the kernel of the Intel Trusted Execution Engine Firmware. This allows an attacker with local access to the system to execute arbitrary code. The buffer overflows are present in the Intel Trusted Execution Engine (TXE) firmware subsystem of the Platform Controller Hub (PCH) chipsets, which act as a southbridge.
