CVE-2017-16534

CVSS v2.0

7.2

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel versions prior to 4.13.6
Description The issue is related to the cdc parse cdc header function in drivers/usb/core/message.c, which allows local users to cause a denial of service, including out-of-bounds read and system crash, or possibly have other unspecified impacts via a crafted USB device. This is due to a buffer overflow in memory.
Recommendations For Linux kernel versions prior to 4.13.6, update to version 4.13.6 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of USB devices to minimize the risk of exploitation.
