CVSS v3.1

6.5

Medium

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions OpenEXR version 2.2.0
Description The issue is related to an invalid read of size 1 in the uncompress function in ImfZip.cpp, which could cause the application to crash. It is also associated with errors in number processing. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations For OpenEXR version 2.2.0, consider disabling the uncompress function in ImfZip.cpp as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the ImfZip.cpp module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
