A buffer overflow can occur when manipulating Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) attributes within the DOM, resulting in a potentially exploitable crash. The issue is related to the function
mozilla::a11y::DocAccessible::PutChildrenBack and can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.Recommendations
For Thunderbird versions prior to 52.3, update to version 52.3 or later.
For Firefox ESR versions prior to 52.3, update to version 52.3 or later.
