High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions:
Android versions prior to security patch level 2018-04-05
Description:
The issue is related to a component of the Qualcomm Radio Interface Layer in the Android operating system, specifically an error involving the repeated freeing of memory. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information by manipulating eMBMS (evolved Multicast/Broadcast Multimedia Services) requests.
Recommendations:
For Android versions prior to security patch level 2018-04-05, update to a version that includes the security patch level 2018-04-05 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to eMBMS services to minimize the risk of exploitation.
