CVE-2018-3591

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Android versions prior to security patch level 2018-04-05
Description: The issue is related to the default build configuration of deviceprogrammer in BOOT.BF.3.0, which enables the flag SKIP SECBOOT CHECK NOT RECOMMENDED BY QUALCOMM. This allows the peek and poke commands to access any memory location on the target, potentially compromising the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.
Recommendations: For Android versions prior to security patch level 2018-04-05, consider applying the security patch level 2018-04-05 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the SKIP SECBOOT CHECK NOT RECOMMENDED BY QUALCOMM flag in the deviceprogrammer configuration to minimize the risk of exploitation.
