CVE-2017-11403

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GraphicsMagick version 1.3.26
Description The issue is related to the ReadMNGImage function in coders/png.c, which has an out-of-order CloseBlob call. This results in a use-after-free condition when processing a crafted file, potentially allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
Recommendations For GraphicsMagick version 1.3.26, consider avoiding the use of the ReadMNGImage function until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the processing of untrusted image files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
