CVE-2017-12937

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GraphicsMagick version 1.3.26
Description The issue is related to a heap-based buffer over-read in the ReadSUNImage function, located in coders/sun.c. This can potentially allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. The problem is associated with reading beyond the boundaries of a buffer in dynamic memory.
Recommendations For GraphicsMagick version 1.3.26, consider disabling the ReadSUNImage function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the sun.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
