CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GraphicsMagick versions 1.3.26
Description The issue is caused by a memory allocation failure in the ReadPNMImage function, leading to a buffer overflow. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service. The vulnerability is related to the MagickRealloc function in magick/memory.c.
Recommendations For GraphicsMagick version 1.3.26, consider disabling the ReadPNMImage function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the coders/pnm.c module to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
