CVE-2017-14649

CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions GraphicsMagick version 1.3.26
Description The issue is related to errors in handling JPEG images, specifically with the ReadOneJNGImage function in coders/png.c. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, resulting in an application crash due to an assertion failure in magick/pixel cache.c.
Recommendations For GraphicsMagick version 1.3.26, consider disabling the ReadOneJNGImage function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to handling JNG data to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
