CVE-2017-18236

CVSS v3.1

5.5

Medium

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Exempi versions prior to 2.4.4
Description The issue is related to the ASF Support::ReadHeaderObject function in XMPFiles/source/FormatSupport/ASF Support.cpp, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, potentially through an infinite loop or use-after-free memory issue, via a crafted .asf file.
Recommendations For versions prior to 2.4.4, update to version 2.4.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the ASF Support::ReadHeaderObject function or avoiding the processing of untrusted .asf files until a patch is applied.
