Description
The issue is related to an out-of-bounds read during the processing of glyph widths during text layout, potentially leading to a crash and allowing an attacker to read otherwise inaccessible memory. It is also described as a use-after-free vulnerability, which could allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service.
Recommendations
For Thunderbird versions prior to 52.1, update to version 52.1 or later.
For Firefox ESR versions prior to 52.1, update to version 52.1 or later.
