Description
The issue arises during DOM manipulations of the accessibility tree through script, causing the DOM tree to become out of sync with the accessibility tree. This can lead to memory corruption and a potentially exploitable crash. The vulnerability is related to a buffer overflow in memory when manipulating the DOM accessibility tree, which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code using a specially crafted script.
Recommendations
For Thunderbird versions prior to 52.1, update to version 52.1 or later.
For Firefox ESR versions prior to 52.1, update to version 52.1 or later.
For Firefox ESR versions prior to 45.9, update to version 45.9 or later.
