Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in memory, which can be exploited by a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code. This is due to memory safety bugs that have been reported, some of which show evidence of memory corruption. It is presumed that with sufficient effort, these bugs could be exploited to run arbitrary code.
Recommendations
For Firefox versions prior to 57, update to version 57 or later.
For Firefox ESR versions prior to 52.5, update to version 52.5 or later.
For Thunderbird versions prior to 52.5, update to version 52.5 or later.
