Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Mozilla Firefox versions prior to 59
Description
The issue is related to the Media Capture and Streams API permission request from documents with "data:" or "blob:" URLs. When such a request is made, the permission notifications do not properly display the originating domain, instead stating "Unknown protocol" as the requestee. This can lead to user confusion about which site is asking for the permission. The vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 59, update to version 59 or later to resolve the issue.
