CVSS v2.0

7.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions LibRaw version 0.18.2
Description The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the kodak radc load raw function of the dcraw common.cpp component in the LibRaw image processing library. This can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially crafted file, potentially leading to a denial of service. The vulnerability is associated with a floating point exception.
Recommendations For LibRaw version 0.18.2, consider disabling the kodak radc load raw function as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to the dcraw common.cpp component to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the vulnerable function with untrusted input files until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
