Description: The issue is related to the Binary File Descriptor (BFD) library, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have other impacts via a COFF binary with a relocation referring to a location after the end of the to-be-relocated section. This vulnerability is also associated with a buffer overflow in memory, potentially allowing a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise its integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations: For GNU Binutils version 2.29.1, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
