CVE-2017-12597

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: OpenCV versions 3.3 and earlier
Description: The issue is related to an out-of-bounds write error in the FillColorRow1 function of the utils.cpp component in the OpenCV library. This error occurs when reading an image file using cv::imread. Exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to access confidential data, compromise data integrity, and cause a denial of service.
Recommendations: For OpenCV versions 3.3 and earlier, consider disabling the FillColorRow1 function in utils.cpp as a temporary workaround until a patch is available. Restrict access to image files that could be used to exploit this issue, and avoid using cv::imread to read image files from untrusted sources. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
