CVSS v3.1

7.1

High

VectorAV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: perltidy versions 20120701-1 and earlier
Description: The issue allows local users to obtain sensitive information or write to arbitrary files via a symlink attack, related to the use of the tmpnam function. This is due to the make temporary filename function in the affected software.
Recommendations: For perltidy versions 20120701-1 and earlier, consider disabling the make temporary filename function until a patch is available to prevent potential symlink attacks. Restrict access to sensitive files and information to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
