Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Beaker versions prior to 20.1

Description The issue allows remote authenticated users to obtain sensitive information via submitting job XML to the server containing entity references which reference files from the Beaker server's file system. This is due to an XML external entity (XXE) vulnerability in bkr/server/jobs.py.

Recommendations For versions prior to 20.1, update to version 20.1 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the bkr/server/jobs.py module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using entity references in job XML submissions to the server until the issue is resolved.
