Description The issue is related to the generation of compiled regular expressions in Erlang, which can lead to a heap overflow. Specifically, regular expressions using a malformed extpattern can indirectly specify an offset used as an array index, allowing arbitrary regions within the erts alloc arena to be read and written to.
Recommendations For Erlang/OTP version 18.x, at the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
