CVE-2016-6886
CVSS v3.1
7.5
High
| Vector | AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H |
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
MatrixSSL versions prior to 3.8.4
Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in an invalid memory read and crash. This can be achieved by providing a zero value or the key's modulus for the secret key during RSA key exchange.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 3.8.4, update to version 3.8.4 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting RSA key exchange to prevent the use of zero values or the key's modulus for the secret key.
