Description The issue is related to inadequate access control in the MySQL Server component, specifically in the Server:Partition subcomponent. This can be exploited by a remote attacker with low privileges to gain unauthorized access to modify, add, or delete data, or to cause a denial of service. The attacker can compromise the MySQL Server via multiple protocols. Successful exploitation can result in the ability to cause the server to hang or crash repeatedly, as well as unauthorized access to update, insert, or delete data.
Recommendations For MySQL Server versions 5.5.58 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. For MySQL Server versions 5.6.38 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue. For MySQL Server versions 5.7.19 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
