CVE-2018-12027

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Phusion Passenger versions 5.3.x through 5.3.1
Description The issue is related to insecure permissions in SpawningKit, which can lead to information disclosure. This occurs when a Passenger-spawned application process reports listening on a certain Unix domain socket, and any parent directory of the socket is writable by a non-application user. This allows the non-application user to swap the directory, redirecting traffic to their process through an alternative Unix domain socket.
Recommendations For Phusion Passenger versions 5.3.x through 5.3.1, update to version 5.3.2 to resolve the issue.
