CVE-2016-10467

CVSS v2.0

10

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:C/I:C/A:C
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Android versions prior to 2018-04-05 security patch level
Description The issue is related to errors in cryptographic key management, specifically in the ce pkcs1 pss padding verify auto recover saltlen function. This function assumes the size of the encoded message equals the size of the RSA modulus, which is generally true but fails when modulus bitlen % 8 == 1. Exploitation of this issue could allow a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.
Recommendations For Android versions prior to 2018-04-05 security patch level, update to a version with a security patch level of 2018-04-05 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of cryptographic functions that rely on the ce pkcs1 pss padding verify auto recover saltlen function until a patch is available.
