Description
The issue is caused by a buffer overflow in the Qualcomm GPT listener component of the Android operating system. This occurs when a large buffer offset is passed to the GPT listener response. Exploitation of this issue could allow a remote attacker to impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected information.
Recommendations
For Android versions prior to 2018-04-05 security patch level on the specified Qualcomm Snapdragon devices, update to a version with a security patch level of 2018-04-05 or later to resolve the issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the buffer size passed to the GPT listener response to prevent buffer overflow until a patch is available.
