CVE-2018-14287

CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Foxit Reader version 9.0.1.1049
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the handling of arguments passed to the instanceManager.nodes.append function, resulting from the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, which can lead to a type confusion condition. An attacker can leverage this to execute code under the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Foxit Reader version 9.0.1.1049, as a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the instanceManager.nodes.append function until a patch is available.
