CVSS v3.1

8.8

High

VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Foxit Reader version 9.1.0.5096
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the handling of the SeedValue Generic Object parameter provided to the signatureSetSeedValue function, due to the lack of validating the existence of an object prior to performing operations on it. An attacker can leverage this to execute code under the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Foxit Reader version 9.1.0.5096, consider disabling the signatureSetSeedValue function until a patch is available to prevent exploitation. Restrict access to files and web pages that could potentially trigger this issue to minimize risk. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
