Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Foxit Reader version 9.0.1.5096
Description
This issue allows remote attackers to disclose sensitive information on vulnerable installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the processing of PDF documents due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data. This can result in a read past the end of an allocated buffer, allowing an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations
For Foxit Reader version 9.0.1.5096, update to a version that fixes the issue with PDF document processing to prevent the disclosure of sensitive information. As a temporary workaround, consider avoiding the opening of PDF documents from untrusted sources until a patch is available.
