VectorAV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Foxit Reader version 9.1.0.5096
Description This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code on vulnerable installations. User interaction is required, where the target must visit a malicious page or open a malicious file. The flaw exists within the processing of PDF files due to the lack of proper validation of user-supplied data, resulting in a type confusion condition. An attacker can leverage this to execute code in the context of the current process.
Recommendations For Foxit Reader version 9.1.0.5096, update to a version that addresses the type confusion condition in PDF file processing to prevent remote code execution. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the opening of PDF files from untrusted sources to minimize the risk of exploitation.
